Dr. Jacqueline Douglas is a licensed psychologist, sport psychologist and member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and APA Division 47: Society for Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology organizations. She earned her doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in clinical psychology at the City University of New York, with a clinical internship at Lehigh University. Prior to this, Dr. Douglas earned a master’s degree in Clinical Psychological Science at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she also worked as a clinician and researcher.
Dr. Douglas brings a range of clinical experience working with diverse adolescent, young adult, and adult populations, with a specialization in sport psychology and mental health treatment for athletes. She has a passion for helping individuals reach new limits of success in all areas of their lives, whether it be in sports, the arts, relationships with others, school, professional careers, or achieving optimal wellness. As a result, she has served as the mental health and sport psychology provider for various Division I and Division III collegiate sports programs and athletes. She has experience working with athletes in sports such as soccer, golf, tennis, lacrosse, basketball, baseball, softball, swimming and diving, field hockey, volleyball, track and field, sailing, and fencing.
In her private practice, Dr. Douglas helps individuals become their most authentic selves by promoting self-compassion, identity exploration, empowerment, and freedom from self-doubt. She is dedicated to helping individuals create a life that is personally fulfilling and meaningful to them. Dr. Douglas also provides individual and group performance consultation services, workshops and training on topics related to optimal performance, including emotion regulation, attentional control, mindful habits, self-talk habits, assertive communication, and more.
