Nutrition Partner: Sheryl Hoehner, MS, RDN, LDN

Sheryl is a graduate of the University of Maryland (masters) and has an extensive and varied background in the field that she loves. Some of the work that she has participated in over her career includes nutrition research with the USDA’s Human Nutrition Research Center in Beltsville MD, and clinical dietetics at the John’s Hopkins Children’s hospital. She has also taught numerous nutrition classes and workshops throughout Maryland, Virginia, New Hampshire, and Vermont including the United States Naval Academy, University of Virginia, and Anne Arundel Community College. She has worked for over 30 years educating customers in the grocery store and has done this work for Giant Foods of Landover, MD, Shoppers Food Warehouse, Hannaford Brothers in Maine, and the Coop grocery store in New Hampshire. While consulting for B. Greens, a privately owned chain of three stores in the inner city of Baltimore, as the corporate and in-store RD, she developed the program Eat Right Live Well which won the owner the National Retailors award for best healthy new program. She is a retired US Army reserves lieutenant colonel having served for 23 years including work as an instructor in the dietetics internship program at Walter Reed Army Medical center.

Sheryl has taken all that she has done in all of these areas and has her own private company: Hoehner Health and Wellness. She enjoys seeing private individuals in her home office. With her vast experiences and expertise she is able to counsel her clients on many issues: pregnancy and breastfeeding, overweight, diabetes, childhood eating, pre-renal and renal. She has helped numerous clients improve their foods intakes and learn better planning, cooking, and eating habits. She has also taken cooking courses at the local community college and applied these to her cooking classes and food demos. Additionally she has appeared on the Fox news with cooking demos and at many health fairs. She also has written 100s of nutrition articles for military communities.

When not working she loves to cook and quilt but mainly loves to be outdoors skiing, biking, playing tennis, and swimming or anything else involving hanging out with her family of three adult kids and her supportive hubby!

We look forward to being able to offer holistic training programs and workshops as we feature some nutritional elements to optimal performance through Sheryl’s expertise!
